But first, there is a job to be found. I had an interview today.  Positives include: 30 hour work week, good schedule, benefits, I wouldn’t be bored.  Negative: children with extreme psychological/violence problems.

Anyway, back to puppies.  I want one.  I grew up having dogs, and I miss it a lot. Under ideal circumstances, I’d take any kind of puppy and love it.  But, we have two cats and don’t have a fenced in area to let it run around in, so we have to be more selective. Right now we are thinking a collie (i.e. Lassie).  I’d love a Border Collie, but that would be way too energetic for our condo. A Basenji would be an awesome, non-boring (but psychotic) dog. Labs are always good, too.  Really, anything that is going to be bigger than my cats but smaller than me.

So unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard that those things with scales and gills that swim underwater are now known as sea kittens. PETA doesn’t want you to go fishing, so they decided to give fish a cuter name.

Their scheme fails.  It makes me want to go fishing because (a) it would be awesome to catch a cuddly sea kitten and (b) they taste delicious!

While I love animals, and would like the ones I eat (and intend to keep eating) to not have to suffer unnecessarily so they can fill my tummy with their meaty goodness, I HATE PETA. They have all these stupid ideas about how to get people to stop eating meat, from the sea kittens to likening chickens to Holocaust victims. And how much they actually help animals is questionable.

Eating fish will make you dumb! And so will smashing rocks on your head!!

Listen up, people. Important news here.  The new first dog may be a Portuguese Water Hound.  They are a bit strange looking.  At least it isn’t a pathetic tiny dog that might blow away with a slight breeze.  I think they should go with a lab.  Labs like water too, and they are really dumb and really loyal (I could make plenty of mean comments here, but I won’t).

Cows are really stupid.  When I was in high school, the cows on the farm on my road would get loose and block the road and make me late to school.

That settles it.  I’m getting a Roomba once I have a job again.

So I’ve been having this pain on the sides of my abdomen.  Nothing that bad, just uncomfortable enough to remind me something is wrong with me. My regular doctor doesn’t know what, so he sent me for a CT scan, which didn’t help figure out what is wrong with me. So he sent me to a surgeon, who also doesn’t know what is wrong with me but said I don’t need surgery (duh?) which is good.

I was bored and thinking “what could I do to make my cats happier?” So I made them a hat.

Scratch vows that she will kill me in my sleep.

I’m not sure what Sniff was thinking.

Sniff liked the hat a lot better on the pig.

Those two lumps under the covers are my cats, Scratch and Sniff.  They like to crawl between the quilt and blanket for a nap.

Scratch is pretty neat about getting under the covers, but Sniff messes them up crawling around.

This is Sniff’s refuge when she is scared, which is whenever there are loud noises or a lot of people in the house.  Today she growled at the UPS truck and then ran up here.
